UI Practice #3: A Fine Day

A obvious flaw with most calendar or task management systems is the obvious need to go into other apps to access tangent information such as nearby locations with reviews, or past images based on GPS data.

A Fine Day is a daily calendar app that’s meant to be more helpful than most, featuring handy information for the modern technology based twenty-something living in a big city.

The language is modern, sophisticated, yet simple. The use of rounded corners adds a layer of friendliness to the stacked cards, and what would typically be an overwhelmingly dark background for a light mode layout.

By now readers, you should know that we here at Design Language Co, love when images are device shaped, it just makes sense! And so here, to save space in the first instance of the gallery—the camera roll features rounded squares, but in the reference to old photos gallery—the extra real estate affords a taller image.

All other typical calendar data is there as well such as date, time, event, invitees etc. Some information may be hidden as this is still a study.

A Fine Day turned out to be really clean and we would imagine be easy to use, there are some things we would tweak about it now but let’s just say that we will save that work for another day.
